Somewhere in the rolling fields to the west of Lexington, a group of men crew a howitzer. The battle of Lexington was the result of the seizure of Bluegrass Army Depot by separatist forces. The depot represented a key piece in the logistical structure of the loyalist forces in the midwest, and in losing it, they lost an invaluable asset to the war effort.

Taking notes from the defense of Kiev, the separatist forces would fortify the city and arm its populace. As a result, loyalist forces would be assaulted by gangs of insurgents and bandits on a near hourly basis. IED attacks would shred patrolling APCs and MRAPs, and snipers would target high ranking personnel. Lexington would prove to be a textbook execution of urban defense strategies.

This looks great, doesn't it? This is rendered using a method that I'm new to. Soft Lamps, or faux ray tracing, is what is providing this image with its lighting quality.

This process takes a while to render, and requires multiple renders for a finished product, so I don't believe I'll be using it for much, but it is nice to have another tool to use!

Hey, me too! I used to clean the facilities out at the warehouse where they keep all the body bags and mobile labs and stuff.

The only reason I even made it about bluegrass was because I was thinking about how goddamn awful fighting in and around Lexington would be. Imagine:, it's hot, 1000% humidity, the people who are usually too busy with opioids and lottery scratchers suddenly got permission to kill you and each other. It'd turn into a GTA Online lobby real quick, I reckon.

I should write a comic about how the south is doing in 2046.
